Russian Shahed drone hits Kharkiv commuter train, injuring 7

The drone hit the rear of the Kharkiv-Izium train at a railway station near the village of Iskra, sparking a fire, according to the Izium City Military Administration.

The train had stopped to allow passengers and crew to evacuate before the strike, according to Oleksandr Pertsovskyi, head of Ukraine's state railway operator Ukrzaliznytsia.

Seven passengers and railway employees suffered shrapnel wounds, most of them minor, Pertsovskyi said.

The strike came a day after another attack near a commuter train in Sumy Oblast, where passengers were also reported injured.

Pertsovskyi said Russian forces have increasingly targeted passenger trains and railway infrastructure in Ukraine's frontline regions, urging passengers to immediately evacuate trains during security stops and move at least 200 meters (650 feet) away if no shelter is available.
