Trump wins the US election

According to preliminary results, former President Donald Trump has won the US election, beating current US Vice President Kamala Harris in the race.

Trump has already announced his victory to his supporters. He has been congratulated by several world leaders, including the presidents of France and Ukraine, as well as the prime ministers of the United Kingdom, Israel, Hungary, and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

Kamala Harris recognized the results of the presidential election and called Trump to congratulate him on his victory.

According to forecasts, Republicans will also succeed in the elections to the Senate, the upper house of Congress, and still have a chance to retain control of the lower house, the House of Representatives.

Russia occupies another 490 km² of Ukrainian territory

In October, Russian troops occupied about 490 km² of Ukrainian territory. This is the largest figure for 2024 and for the Russian offensive, which has been going on since October 2023.

At the same time, analysts emphasized that “one should not measure everything by areas, because people are fighting, and they are the guarantee of the army's sustainability and its potential for resistance”.

Ukraine responds to Poland's statements about dragging it into war

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has responded to the words of Polish Vice Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski, who said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wants to drag Poland into a war with Russia.

They called Gawkowski's words “groundless”, as shooting down Russian missiles and drones flying in the direction of Poland over Ukraine is “in the interests of the security of Poland itself and its citizens”.

Russian losses in the Kursk region

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, said that Russian troops have already lost 20,842 people in the battles in the Kursk region, including 7,905 killed and 12,220 wounded. In addition, another 717 Russians have been captured.

According to Syrskyi, intelligence warned that the Russians were planning to attack the Sumy direction from the north. Therefore, the Defense Forces acted proactively and moved the fighting to Russian territory.

DIU drones hit Russian ships in the Caspian Sea

Drones of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine have hit Russian ships in the Caspian Sea, 1500 kilometers from the border, for the first time.

Ukrainian drones attacked the Republic of Dagestan, Russia, and the Tatarstan and Dagestan missile ships were damaged as a result of UAV strikes. Project 21631 small missile ships were also allegedly damaged.

Prometheus co-founder becomes MP

The Central Election Commission has recognized Ivan Prymachenko as a member of parliament from the Voice party. He replaced Oleh Makarov, who died on October 29.

In 2014, Prymachenko co-founded the open online course platform Prometheus with Oleksii Molchanovskyi. He is also the head of the first mass online course project in Ukraine, University Online.
