Russian troops damaged the dam of the Kurakhove Reservoir with shelling, as a result of which the water level in the rivers rose in nearby villages. The occupiers shot two Ukrainian prisoners of war in Russia’s Kursk Oblast.

Russian troops damaged the Kurakhove Reservoir with shelling. The conclusion about the probable destruction was made due to rising water in nearby villages. The condition of the facility is not yet known. Inspection of the impact site is complicated by active fighting on the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove axes.

The Donetsk regional administration said that the Russian attack on the Kurakhove Reservoir poses a potential threat to the residents of the two regions.

Mobile fire groups are increasing in Ukraine

Denmark will purchase Ukrainian weapons for the Defense Forces

Ukraine and Denmark have signed a series of agreements worth a total of 4.2 billion Danish kroner ($629 million) on procurement for the Defense Forces. Until the end of 2024, long-range drones, ATGM systems, rocket and artillery installations manufactured in Ukraine will be purchased for the Defense Forces.

Emergency blackouts were introduced in Kyiv and the regions

In the morning, emergency blackouts were imposed in Kyiv and other regions of Ukraine due to the threat of Russian attacks on energy infrastructure facilities. Mass media reported about blackouts in Mykolaiv Oblast, Kyiv Oblast, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Cherkasy Oblast, Sumy Oblast, Zhytomyr Oblast, Kirovohrad Oblast, and Kharkiv Oblast. The power outages were canceled within a few hours.

What will Trump do in the first days of the presidency

On his first official day in office, Donald Trump plans to start deporting illegal immigrants, roll back Joe Biden's education policies, and fire thousands of government employees, according to the Associated Press. He will also try to bring Ukraine and Russia to the negotiating table.

The "Winter package" of support will last the whole year 2025

The government package to support Ukrainians in winter will continue not only during the winter months, but also throughout the next year, as long as there is enough budget funding for it. Winter support will include additional assistance for vulnerable segments of the population, for families with children, as well as for all Ukrainians in need of assistance.

Russian attacks

Overnight on Sunday, Russian troops attacked Mykolaiv with suicide drones and targeted residential buildings. Five people died as a result of the attack.

Also at night, the Russians launched at least three guided aerial bombs at Zaporizhzhia — one person was killed and 23 people were injured. Among the injured are five children

In the morning, the aggressor attacked Kryvyi Rih in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. There they hit a high-rise building with a ballistic missile. As a result of the impact, the entry sections from the fifth to the first floor were destroyed. Currently, 14 casualties are confirmed, a woman and three children may be under the rubble.

Subsequently, Russian troops struck Nikopol in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast with artillery. Two people died, one of the dead was a 30-year-old doctor, who died at his workplace. Five others were injured.
