Russian FAB bombing of Zaporizhzhia prison kills 16, injures 35

Overnight, Russian troops attacked a correctional colony in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, resulting in 16 deaths, Zaporizhzhia Oblast Military Administration head Ivan Fedorov reported.
During the night, Russian forces shelled the Zaporizhzhia district eight times, preliminarily with FAB aerial bombs.
The occupiers hit the correctional colony, killing 16 people and injuring 35. The wounded are receiving necessary medical care.
The facility’s buildings were destroyed, and nearby private homes were damaged.
Situation in the region
On July 28, Russian forces launched 672 strikes on 14 settlements in Zaporizhzhia Oblast:
- Russian troops conducted 10 airstrikes on Bilenke, Zaliznychne, Bilohiria, Malynivka, and Novoandriyivka.
- 461 drones of various types (mostly FPV) targeted Malokaterynivka, Kamyanske, Huliaypole, Orikhiv, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, and Charivne.
- 12 rocket launcher (MLRS) attacks struck Hryhorivka, Kamyanske, Shcherbaky, Mala Tokmachka, and Charivne.
- 189 artillery strikes hit Kamyanske, Huliaypole, Orikhiv, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, Solodke, and Preobrazhenka.
An 81-year-old woman was injured in attacks on the Polohy district. Authorities received 24 reports of damage to apartments, private homes, and outbuildings.
