2 killed, 60 Injured in Russian drone attack on Kharkiv

A Russian drone attack on Kharkiv overnight into Wednesday killed two people and injured 60, including nine children, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov, regional governor Oleg Synegubov, and the State Emergency Service reported.
Russian forces deployed 17 attack drones, identified by the regional prosecutor’s office as Geran-2 models, targeting the Slobidskyi and Osnovianskyi districts of Kharkiv, according to an updated statement.
The strikes hit apartment buildings, private homes, playgrounds, businesses, and public transport, causing fires in apartments, destroying roofs, burning cars, and shattering windows. Trolleybuses, power lines, and utility and industrial facilities were also damaged.
The victims included a 66-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman. Among the injured were a 2-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy, with others suffering various injuries and acute stress reactions.
Rescue workers, police, medics, and utility services are responding, with ongoing evacuation and cleanup efforts.
