The US proposes “dividing the control over the Zaporizhzhia NPP between three parties,” which is unfair, says Zelensky

The US representatives have proposed the joint use of the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) by the US, Ukraine, and Russia, said President Volodymyr Zelensky in a conversation with Ukrainian media.
“The US suggested a compromise; they believe that the NPP should operate somehow, and be divided between the three parties in certain proportions. I told them, after lengthy discussions on this issue, that I consider this to be unfair. The issue is not only that this is our plant. There are many different issues,” Zelensky said.
Earlier, the media reported that the proposed 28-point “peace plan,” which looked more like “a Russia’s wishlist,” included a point about restarting the station under the supervision of the IAEA, with electricity production to be divided equally between Russia and Ukraine.
The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, said that the occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant would need “a special status” if a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine is reached.
"Whatever side of the line [the ZNPP] ends up, you will have to have a cooperative arrangement or a cooperative atmosphere," Grossi said.
