Russian forces launched a massive missile and drone attack on Kyiv overnight into Friday, killing at least four people and injuring 24, including emergency responders hit in a follow-up strike, police, the State Emergency Service and the Kyiv City Military Administration reported.

Four fatalities were confirmed in the capital, including a medical worker. Among the 24 injured were State Emergency Service personnel and medics who were responding to an initial strike in the Darnytskyi district when a second attack occurred.

In the Darnytskyi district, a drone fell in the courtyard of a residential building, partially damaging a single-story store and windows in a nearby nine-story apartment block.

Debris also ignited fires in two residential buildings and garages.

In the Desnianskyi district, a drone hit the roof of an 18-story building, starting a fire. Another blaze broke out in a five-story residential building, with smoke filling the entry section of yet another five-story structure. Damage was also reported to a shopping center and a sanatorium.

In the Dniprovskyi district, falling drone debris caused fires in a 16-story and a nine-story residential building. The blast wave partially destroyed the roof of a three-story building.

Debris also landed on a children's playground in a residential courtyard and near a tram depot.

Impacts were recorded in the Pecherskyi district, where debris partially destroyed the facade of a nine-story building.

The Russian barrage also damaged critical infrastructure in the capital. Some districts experienced outages in electricity, water supply and heating.

As of 5:16 a.m., heating was absent or reduced in the Desnianskyi and Pecherskyi districts, and parts of Holosiyivskyi, Darnytskyi, Dniprovskyi, Obolonskyi, Podilskyi, Solomyanskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts.
