Russian attack damages dog shelter in Zaporizhzhia

A Russian attack damaged a municipal dog shelter in Zaporizhzhia, injuring many animals, the city council reported on Friday.
Numerous dogs were hurt in the attack. Municipal enterprise Pobutovyk is transporting the injured animals to veterinary clinics for urgent care.
Russian strikes overnight also damaged residential buildings in Zaporizhzhia’s Zavodskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts. Cleanup and recovery efforts involved district administrations, the State Emergency Service, National Police, municipal services, and the city’s social protection department.
Separately, a Russian drone struck a private home in Vilniansk, Zaporizhzhia Oblast, overnight into Friday, killing a married couple.
Russian forces also targeted energy infrastructure in the region, causing brief power outages for about 12,000 customers and one boiler house serving the Zavodskyi microdistrict. Electricity was restored within two hours.
