Russian strikes kill 3, wound 20 in Kharkiv Oblast attacks
Russian strikes across Kharkiv Oblast on Wednesday killed three people and wounded 20 others, hitting a store, a medical vehicle, a bus and residential areas, the Kharkiv Oblast Military Administration, regional prosecutor’s office and police reported.
Around 6:30 p.m. in the town of Barvinkove, Izyum district, a Russian drone — preliminarily identified as a Geran-2 type — struck a two-story store. The building was destroyed and a fire broke out covering more than 1,500 square meters.
Russian forces carried out a follow-up strike, damaging apartment buildings, garages and vehicles.
As of Thursday morning, 13 people were known to have been injured in this attack.
Near the village of Borshchivka, Izyum district, a drone — preliminarily identified as a Lancet type — hit a medical evacuation vehicle.
Five people were inside: medical workers and patients. A 63-year-old woman was killed in the attack; the others sustained injuries and acute stress reactions.
Around 4:20 p.m., Russian forces struck the village of Zolochiv, Bohodukhiv district, with an FPV drone. Two boys aged 14 and 15 suffered acute stress reactions.
In the village of Ruska Lozova, an FPV drone struck a passenger bus. The driver and passengers were not on board at the time of the attack.
Near the village of Bryhadyrivka in the Balakliya territorial community, a 63-year-old woman was killed and men aged 59, 49 and 44 were injured.
Overnight, Russian forces carried out a combined massive attack on the city of Lozova. Preliminary reports indicate the use of ballistic missiles and Geran-2 type attack drones. The assault lasted roughly from 1:30 a.m. to 4:00 a.m.
A 55-year-old man and an 88-year-old woman were killed. Six others were injured — men aged 49, 41 and 59, and women aged 78, 64 and 52. They sustained wounds and are in a state of acute shock.
Strikes also damaged or destroyed civilian infrastructure facilities. A warehouse building at one enterprise caught fire. Garages of a farming enterprise and residential homes were damaged.
