Children injured, port infrastructure damaged in massive overnight drone barrage

Russian forces launched 187 strike drones against Ukraine overnight into Friday, causing civilian casualties—including children—and damaging port infrastructure, residential buildings and other civilian objects in several regions, Ukraine’s Air Force reported.
The UAVs flew from Bryansk, Oryol, Shatalovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as from Hvardiyske in occupied Crimea.
Air defenses downed or suppressed 165 drones across northern, southern and eastern Ukraine by 8:30 a.m., but 20 drones struck 14 locations.
Attack aftermath
A 67-year-old man died as a result of shelling of the village of Pidserednie, Velykyi Burluk territorial community in Kharkiv Oblast. According to the State Emergency Service, the aggressor hit a residential building, completely destroying it. Rescuers pulled the man's body from under the rubble. A 67-year-old woman was also injured.

In Sumy, the Russian forces fired at a building early in the morning. After the first hit, the Russians struck again when rescuers were already working on the scene.
According to police, Russian troops shelled 40 settlements in the region on February 26. A 14-year-old boy was injured, and private homes, a gas station, a civilian car, and a church fence were also damaged.
In Odesa Oblast, Russia attacked civilian and port infrastructure with drones. Two people were injured - a three-and-a-half-year-old girl and a 44-year-old man. Both were hospitalized in moderate condition.
Damage was recorded in the region to port tanks and a construction crane, the facade and glazing of a residential building, cars, a medical facility, and a kindergarten building was destroyed.
In Zaporizhzhia, four people were injured as a result of Russian strikes, including a teenager. Two residential buildings, an outbuilding, a car, and a low-pressure gas pipeline caught fire at several addresses. In total, according to the regional military administration, 17 people were injured in Zaporizhzhia Oblast on February 26.
In Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, the Russian forces attacked two districts almost 10 times — with drones and an aerial bomb. In the Nikopol district, a house was damaged, and a dwelling burned in the Pokrovske community. There were no casualties.
