Russian forces struck a minibus with a drone in Kherson this morning, killing two people including an 18-year-old girl and wounding nine others, the regional military administration and police reported.

The attack occurred around 7 a.m. when the public transport vehicle was carrying the most passengers, officials said.

Kherson regional military governor Oleksandr Prokudin emphasized that the Russian operator deliberately directed the drone toward the minibus where people were seated.

The two women killed on the spot included 18-year-old Svitlana, who was traveling with her mother to complete university admission documents.

"We needed to register for admission — take photos, get an electronic signature," her mother recounted. "I thought it would be safer in the morning. We would go, get everything done and she would return home. But it turned into her death for us."

The mother herself sustained a cut on her hand and other injuries. According to her, the second woman killed was sitting right behind them with her daughter.

Nine other people suffered mine-blast injuries and multiple shrapnel wounds. Among the wounded are two medical workers.

Six people were hospitalized. One of the injured is in extremely serious condition. Doctors performed surgery and stabilized her. The woman is currently in the intensive care unit.
