An international delegation visited sites in Kyiv most affected by Russia's massive attack overnight into July 2, including diplomats from Japan, Latvia, Spain and other countries.

Dozens of foreigners arrived to inspect the damage in Kyiv's Darnytskyi district, according to hromadske’s correspondent.

According to State Emergency Service head Andriy Danyk, 17 people were rescued from under the rubble of a residential building hit by a missile.

"We managed to rescue such a large number of victims at one location for the first time — it was three, five, maximum seven before. This is thanks to the very rapid deployment of rescue units. We knew about the attack and prepared for it," he said.

At the same time, Danyk reported that up to nine more people may still be under the rubble. The search and rescue operation continues.

“"It looks terrible. I came from Latvia, and you know, we understand very well what Ukrainians are going through. That's why we are among Ukraine's biggest allies," said third secretary and political adviser at the Latvian Embassy in Ukraine, Aleksandrs Mironovs. “They [Russians] have been committing such crimes for many years, starting from 2014. And it is simply painful to see these destructions and people dying again and again. That's why we are on Ukraine's side, that's why we support Ukraine. You know, when you see this, you just understand that these horrors must stop as soon as possible. Ukraine must win, and we must do everything to make it happen.”

According to the latest State Emergency Service data, at least 85 people were injured in the attack, including two children. As of 4:35 p.m., 21 people were reported killed.

Fires and damage to civilian infrastructure and residential buildings occurred in several districts of the city at once. In the Darnytskyi district, a five-story residential building and a nine-story building were partially destroyed, with damage from the first to sixth floors, upper floors of a 16-story building and private homes. Many other residential buildings were damaged, with windows blown out in numerous apartments.

Six medical workers were injured in the strike. They are in moderate condition.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Kyiv was the main target of the Russian attack, during which they used 74 missiles and 496 drones of various types. A feature was the simultaneous use of various air attack means from different directions, as well as a large number of ballistic and jet-powered drones. Air defenses neutralized 48 missiles and 476 drones.
