General Staff confirms successful strike on military airfield in Lipetsk: 700 KAB bombs destroyed
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces confirmed the successful strike by the Ukrainian military on the military airfield in Lipetsk, reads the report of the General Staff.
As a result of the overnight attack, warehouses with guided aerial bombs and a number of other objects in the vicinity of the airport were hit. Several sources of ignition were recorded, a strong fire broke out, and multiple detonations were observed.
According to the General Staff, the Su-34, Su-35 and MiG-31 aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces are based at the Lipetsk airfield. The aftermath of the damage is being clarified.
According to an informed hromadske source, more than 700 guided aerial bombs were stored in warehouses. After the strike of the Ukrainian drones, a powerful explosion occurred, which caused a chain detonation and a large-scale fire on a large part of the airfield.
Most of the planes stationed at the Lipetsk-2 airfield did not have time to take off.
According to hromadske, the night operation at the Lipetsk-2 airfield was carried out by the Armed Forces, Special Operations Forces and the Security Service of Ukraine.
hromadske's source reported that the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue methodical work to destroy Russian air logistics so that the Russians do not have the opportunity to bomb Ukrainian cities with anti-aircraft missiles. At the beginning of August, the Defense Forces "cleared" the airfield Morozovsk of anti-aircraft missiles and fighters.

The governor of Lipetsk Oblast reported the detonation of explosive objects far from civilian buildings at night. According to locals, the fire was seen in the area of the Lipetsk military airfield, where the ammunition could have been detonated.
To eliminate the consequences of the detonation of explosive objects, a state of emergency was introduced near the Lipetsk municipal district. Evacuation of the settlements of Koptsevy Khutora, Fedorovka, Yakovlelka, Tynkovka.
According to local authorities, nine people were injured. All entertainment events in the region have been cancelled. In the city of Lipetsk and the Lipetsk district, passenger traffic has been temporarily stopped. Also, as a result of the fall of the UAV, the object of the energy infrastructure was damaged, and the power supply was disrupted.
