On August 13, the Ukrainian military advanced in some areas by 1 to 3 kilometers in the Kursk region of Russia. Currently, they control 74 settlements in the region, said Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi in a report to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
At the same time, Zelenskyy said that during the Ukrainian operation in the Kursk region, hundreds of Russian soldiers surrendered. According to him, they will receive humane treatment that they did not have in their own army.

IAEA experts have visited the cooling tower of the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, where a fire broke out the day before.
The team concluded that it is unlikely that the primary source of the fire was at the base of the cooling tower. The IAEA requested access to the distribution level of the water nozzles, but was denied, allegedly “for security reasons”.
Restrictions have been imposed on the border areas of Sumy region
The military command of Ukraine has imposed restrictions on the movement of all categories of citizens in the twenty-kilometer border zone of Sumy region.
At the same time, an extended curfew was introduced in Kharkiv region for more than 200 settlements.
Fighting in urban areas near Toretsk

Trial begins in Germany over murder of Ukrainian teenagers
