DeepState: Occupiers shoot Ukrainian prisoners of war in Donetsk region

Russian soldiers shot three Ukrainian prisoners of war near the village of Neskuchne in Donetsk region.

This was stated by the DeepState monitoring group.

They said that on January 3, the Russian army stormed the positions of the 141st separate infantry brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Then the Ukrainian servicemen surrendered, after which they were tied up, taken in front of the position and shot in the back of the head.

“If the brigade is interested in finding the perpetrators, we hope they will provide the video to law enforcement agencies,” DeepState said.

Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets reacted to this and said that he immediately appealed to the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross to condemn this crime.

“Ukraine remains committed to upholding humanitarian law even in times of war, but we will not allow Russia to turn the world into a territory of lawlessness. The perpetrators must be punished!” the official added.

Executions of captured Ukrainian fighters

As of November 2024, law enforcement officers were investigating 53 criminal cases over the shooting of 177 soldiers. In October-November alone, 13 such cases were registered against 54 soldiers.

This year, the number of criminal cases opened over the murders of Ukrainian prisoners of war by Russians has increased more than fourfold compared to 2022 and 2023.
