Britain to finance production of air defense and long-range weapons in Ukraine — Defense Minister Umerov

The United Kingdom will finance Ukraine's production of air defense and long-range weapons, announced the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov.
He said that he arrived on a working visit to the United Kingdom on January 13, where he met with Secretary of State for Defense John Healey. The main topic of the talks was the coordination of plans for bilateral cooperation in 2025 in key security areas.
Umerov noted that the United Kingdom has already invested in the production of Ukrainian weapons, and this cooperation continues: in particular, funding will now be directed to the production of air defense/missile defense systems and long-range weapons.
The Minister of Defense reported that the United Kingdom has confirmed its readiness to provide ongoing and comprehensive support to strengthen Ukraine's positions both on the battlefield and in the international arena.
"We expect increased military, political, and economic assistance from British allies this year," Umerov stated.
At the end of 2024, Ukraine received more than 150 million euros from Denmark, France, and Lithuania to finance the production of weapons: missiles, deepstrike drones, and artillery systems.
