Russia attacks Ukraine with cruise missiles and drones. Poland scrambles its aviation

Overnight, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with drones and cruise missiles, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported. The assault resulted in casualties and destruction.
The use of UAVs was reported the previous evening. At 5:25 a.m., the Air Force reported the takeoff of four Russian Tu-95 MS bombers from the airfield in Engels.
Drones were recorded, in particular, in Sumy, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Poltava, Mykolaiv, and Vinnytsia oblasts.
Meanwhile, the missiles flew into Ukrainian airspace through Chernihiv Oblast towards Kyiv Oblast, but then changed direction and flew towards Poltava and Cherkasy oblasts. Their course also changed towards Ternopil and Zhytomyr oblasts.
In response to the Russian attack on Ukraine, neighboring Poland scrambled its aviation. All available forces and assets, as well as ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems, were put on alert, the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces reported.
Consequences of the overnight attack
In Sumy, two Russian drones hit a residential area, damaging the windows of residential buildings. There are two wounded there, the State Emergency Service said. The regional administration also stated that a Shahed also attacked the Khotin territorial community, the consequences are still being clarified.
Meanwhile, in Kyiv Oblast, the Obukhiv and Fastiv districts were hit, the Kyiv regional authorities reported. In the Obukhiv district, a house and utility rooms were destroyed.
A 44-year-old woman was also injured there. She was hospitalized with a cut wound to her leg. There is also damage to private homes in the Fastiv district.
