Drones hit Russian arms, fiber optic plants in Tula Oblast, Mordovia Republic

Drones attacked Russia’s Tula Oblast and Mordovia Republic overnight into Wednesday, targeting an artillery systems plant and a fiber optic cable factory, while air defenses engaged targets near Moscow, Russian Telegram channels reported.

In Moscow Oblast, drones attempted to strike the capital, with residents in nearby Krasnoarmiysk reporting active air defense operations.

In Tula Oblast, Governor Dmitry Milyaev claimed air defenses repelled five drone attacks, but social media posts suggested drones hit the Splav plant, which develops Grad, Uragan, and Smerch multiple rocket launch systems.

In Mordovia’s Saransk, drones likely struck a fiber optic cable factory, with regional head Artem Zdunov confirming air defense activity.

Neither Russia nor Ukraine has officially commented on the attacks.
