Russia attacks Ukraine with ballistic missile, 175 drones
Russian forces launched a ballistic Iskander-M missile and 175 Shahed drones and decoy UAVs at Ukraine overnight into Friday, with air defenses neutralizing 150 drones across nine regions, the Ukrainian Air Force reported.
The Iskander-M missile was fired from Russia’s Rostov Oblast, while 175 drones were launched from Millerovo, Kursk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, targeting eastern, western, northern, southern, and central Ukraine.
Ukrainian aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare (EW) teams, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups countered the assault, downing as of 1:00 p.m. 91 drones with firepower and disabling 59 via EW or loss of signal with no reported adverse effects.
The attack impacted Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Odesa, Chernivtsi, and Ivano-Frankivsk oblasts.s
