Russian troops hit Odesa port with ballistic missiles: one dead, eight injured

Russian forces struck Odesa port with two ballistic missiles on Friday, killing one civilian worker and injuring eight others, with damage to port infrastructure, Odesa Oblast governor Oleh Kiper and Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksiy Kuleba reported.
Kiper and Kuleba confirmed the attack targeted civilian port workers, with four of the injured in critical condition.
The strike damaged a machine room, shattered windows and doors in administrative buildings, and destroyed vehicles and equipment.
At around 3:30 p.m., Ukraine’s Air Force issued a nationwide missile alert due to a Russian MiG-31K fighter takeoff.
"It was a normal working day in a normal Ukrainian port. People were working, equipment was reloading containers. There was not a single military facility, only civilian infrastructure. Russia has once again attacked a peaceful, strategically important facility that is important for the world's food security," Kuleba wrote.
He noted that since Russia’s invasion, the aggressor’s attacks have damaged or destroyed nearly 400 port infrastructure units, over 30 vessels, and affected 106 civilians.
