Ukraine's SBU releases drone footage of Spiderweb strikes on Russian strategic aircraft

Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) released new drone footage on June 4, showing FPV drone strikes from its Spiderweb operation that destroyed or damaged 41 Russian strategic aircraft at four airbases.
The videos depict attacks on Olenya, Ivanovo, Dyagilevo, and Belaya airfields, targeting Russian strategic aviation, including A-50, Tu-95, Tu-22, Tu-160, An-12, and Il-78 aircraft, with many irreparably destroyed or facing years of repairs.
The SBU utilized advanced drone control technology blending AI-driven autonomous algorithms with manual operator input, allowing drones to follow preplanned routes and detonate upon target contact even if signals were lost.
More about the operation
Launched on June 1, the operation hit 34% of Russia’s strategic missile carriers, prepared over 18 months by smuggling FPV drones and mobile wooden cabins—concealing drones under remotely opened roofs—into Russia.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that organizers were safely extracted from Russia. Nonetheless, Russia issued a wanted notice for Artem Tymofeev, a 37-year-old Ukrainian allegedly linked to the drone trucks.
