Ukraine returns bodies of three Russian soldiers from POW exchange

Ukraine has returned the bodies of three Russian soldiers to Russia as part of repatriation efforts during prisoner exchanges, Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said at a briefing on Monday, according to a hromadske correspondent.
“We did not touch this sensitive topic. We quietly did our work, professionally, and set aside bodies for exchange,” Klymenko stated. “When Russia launched an information attack against us, we went public with our efforts.”
When a body is confirmed as belonging to a Russian soldier with 100% certainty, it is prepared for repatriation. In cases of uncertainty, further verification, including DNA analysis, is required.
Minister Klymenko noted that one reason for the public statement was Russia’s failure to provide professional explanations, instead attempting to politicize the process.
“We will release dozens of facts after relevant examinations so that this information is seen not only by our citizens but also by Russian citizens,” the official added.
