The Ryazan Oil Refinery, operated by Russia’s state-owned Rosneft, has lost approximately half its refining capacity since August 2, 2025, following Ukrainian drone attacks last week, while the Novokuibyshevsk Refinery has ceased operations entirely, Reuters reported, citing three industry sources.

According to the sources, the attack on the Ryazan Refinery disabled two primary refining units—CDU-3 (8,600 tons per day) and CDU-4 (11,400 tons per day).

The refinery is currently operating with only the CDU-6 unit, which has a capacity of 23,200 tons per day, representing about 48% of its total capacity. Sources noted that last year, the Ryazan Refinery processed 13.1 million tons of crude oil, producing 2.3 million tons of gasoline, 3.4 million tons of diesel fuel, 4.2 million tons of fuel oil, and 1 million tons of jet fuel.

Meanwhile, Rosneft’s Novokuibyshevsk Refinery, also hit on August 2, has completely halted operations.
