Russian troops near Dobropillia, as Ukrainian defenders counter infiltrations

The analytical project DeepState claimed that Russian forces made advances near Dobropillia in Donetsk Oblast, while Ukraine’s Dnipro Operational-Strategic Troop Grouping clarified that although Russian groups breach the first line of defense, they are subsequently destroyed by Ukrainian forces, according to posts by DeepState and Dnipro OSTG.
DeepState indicated that Russian troops approached the settlements of Kucheriv Yar, Zolotyi Kolodiaz, and Vesele, northeast of Dobropillia, and are now amassing forces to build on their progress. The group also reported Russian advances toward the Dobropillia-Kramatorsk highway, with Russian presence noted near Novovodiane and Petrivka.

Dnipro OSTG confirmed that on the Dobropillia and Pokrovsk fronts, Russian forces exploit numerical advantages and attempt to advance in small groups past Ukraine’s first defensive line. However, the command emphasized that such infiltrations do not equate to territorial control.
“Misunderstanding this has repeatedly led to errors in analyzing the situation and public discussions around the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad agglomeration,” the military noted.
The Dnipro grouping stated that the situation remains challenging, with the fiercest fighting occurring in this region compared to other frontline sectors. Ukrainian forces are actively working to eliminate Russian groups that breach the first defensive line, according to the statement.
The command urged the public to rely on verified sources and avoid spreading unconfirmed information.
The General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces reported 122 combat engagements since the start of August 11, with 35 Russian attempts to push back Ukrainian units on the Pokrovsk front. As of 10:00 p.m., three clashes were ongoing.
