Russian saboteurs infiltrate four settlements near Pokrovsk, already being destroyed — General Staff

Russian saboteurs, exploiting local terrain, infiltrated the settlements of Vesele, Vilne, Rubizhne, and Kucheriv Yar in Ukraine’s Pokrovsk sector in Donetsk Oblast, but Ukrainian forces are neutralizing them, General Staff spokesperson Andriy Kovalyov said on Wednesday.
Russian forces are acting aggressively, attempting to penetrate deep into Ukrainian defenses despite suffering losses. Small sabotage and infantry groups are trying to bypass Ukrainian positions.
Specifically, several small groups evaded Ukrainian defenses and attempted to advance toward the settlement of Zolotyi Kolodiaz. Additionally, using the terrain’s features, saboteurs covertly entered Vesele, Vilne, Rubizhne, and Kucheriv Yar.
“Some of these groups have already been eliminated, and the rest are in the process of being neutralized,” Kovalyov stated.
He described the situation as “challenging and dynamic” but emphasized that Ukrainian Defense Forces are taking all necessary measures to detect and destroy the enemy groups.
Russia has concentrated over 110,000 troops in the Pokrovsk sector, making it one of the most intense fronts. To bolster defenses, Ukraine’s Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi has allocated additional forces and resources.
On Tuesday, the 1st National Guard Corps Azov reported it had taken up defensive positions in the Pokrovsk sector and implemented measures to block Russian forces.
Kovalyov noted that reserve units have already detected the enemy and achieved initial successes, with Russian occupiers being eliminated or captured.
