Russia strikes Ukraine with 2 missiles, 97 drones, 63 downed
In the early hours of Friday, Russian troops launched an attack on Ukrainian regions using two Iskander-M ballistic missiles and 97 drones of various types, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
The air assault was countered by aviation, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
As of 8:00 AM, air defenses had shot down or neutralized 63 enemy Shahed drones and various decoy drones in the northern and eastern parts of the country. Missile strikes and 34 drones hit 13 locations.
The drones targeted frontline areas in Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk, and Chernihiv oblasts, while the missiles struck Kharkiv and Chernihiv oblasts.
