Trump and Zelenskyy conclude bilateral meeting, which both call 'very good'

Presidents of the United States and Ukraine Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelenskyy have concluded a bilateral conversation and are heading to a meeting with European leaders, according to the White House broadcast.
Trump said that Russian leader Vladimir Putin had agreed at a meeting in Alaska that Ukraine should receive security guarantees. He added that he is "optimistic" that an agreement will be reached that will deter further aggression against Ukraine.
According to Zelenskyy, at the meeting, he told Trump about the situation on the battlefield. He thanked the American president for the map that was displayed before their conversation.
At the same time, the Ukrainian president noted that "sensitive issues," including territories, should be discussed at a trilateral meeting between Ukraine, Russia, and the United States.
Later, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz also took the floor, saying that a ceasefire should be reached before the trilateral meeting. In response, Trump said that the wars he helped end did not require it.
In the end, he said that whether the war in Ukraine will be brought to an end will be known within one to two weeks.
Today, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived at the White House for talks with U.S. President Donald Trump. European leaders also arrived there.
The meeting comes a few days after Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin held talks in Alaska. Trump gave the meeting a "10 out of 10" rating, and afterwards said that he would refrain from imposing additional sanctions or other "serious consequences" on Russia, as he had promised earlier.
