Ukrainian forces clear settlement near Dobropillia in Donbas from Russian troops

Ukrainian Defense Forces liberated a settlement in the Dobropillia sector from Russian troops, the Dnipro Operational-Strategic Troop Grouping reported on Friday.

The operation was carried out by soldiers of the 4th National Guard Brigade “Rubizh” alongside allied units.

The grouping explained that Russian occupiers had infiltrated between Ukrainian positions and entrenched themselves in a building.

Ukrainian forces surrounded the enemy, with National Guard troops using Roshel armored vehicles to fire machine guns at the Russians holed up inside. Reconnaissance units from allied forces then neutralized the enemy ambush, eliminating, wounding, or capturing nearly an entire Russian platoon.

The Dnipro Operational-Strategic Troop Grouping emphasized that the “Rubizh” brigade completed the mission without losses.

On September 2, Ukrainian forces cleared and liberated the village of Udachne in Donetsk Oblast.

The previous day, they freed the settlement of Novoekonomichne in Donetsk Oblast, raising the Ukrainian flag there.

On August 24, Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi reported that Ukrainian Defense Forces also cleared three villages in Donetsk Oblast—Mikhailivka, Zelenyi Hai, and Volodymyrivka—from Russian troops.

Earlier, Ukrainian forces regained control of most of the village of Tovste, near Zelenyi Hai, and raised the Ukrainian flag there.
