Ukrainian intelligence takes down Russian fuel cards and dozens of online resources

Cyber specialists from Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate conducted a large-scale DDoS attack on Russia’s network infrastructure, targeting systems that facilitate online fuel payments, including fuel cards, an intelligence source told hromadske.

The attack, which began on Sunday morning, targeted platforms such as “Advanced Payment Systems,” responsible for operating fuel cards (Rosneft), as well as servers of Rostelecom and Lukoil.

According to the source, the operation inflicted damages on Russia estimated at $1-3 million.

On the same day, a cyber strike hit the information and communication infrastructure of telecom provider K-Corp. Ukrainian cyber specialists disabled over 700 switches and 13 servers across two data centers, completely halting the company’s operations.

The source noted that K-Corp was targeted for providing telecommunications services to Russia’s defense company, Kalashnikov Concern.

Additionally, dozens of online resources were attacked, with their main pages displaying greetings for Ukraine’s Military Intelligence Day.
