Russia fires 2 missiles, 152 drones at Ukraine, hitting 10 sites
Russian forces attacked Ukraine overnight into Tuesday with 152 strike drones including Shahed and Gerbera types plus two Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles, with 88 targets downed by air defenses, Ukraine's Air Force Command reported.
The Russians launched the drones from Oryol, Kursk, Shatalovo and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as Cape Chauda in occupied Crimea, and the missiles from Russia's Rostov Oblast.
Of the 152 drones, about 80 were Shaheds.
Ukrainian aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare teams, drone systems and mobile fire groups from the Defense Forces countered the aerial assault.
As of 9 a.m., air defenses had shot down or jammed 88 drones over the north and east of the country, the Air Force said.
Hits were recorded from two missiles and 52 strike drones at 10 locations, plus debris from downed targets at two more sites.
The attack was ongoing as of 9 a.m., with several drones still in the airspace.
Consequences of the attack
Russian troops heavily shelled Sumy, Kharkiv and Poltava oblasts.
In Kharkiv, the assault caused power outages.
In Poltava, Russians struck a locomotive depot, power supply facility and traction substations, leaving more than 1,000 households without electricity in the city and nearby areas.
The aggressor also hit an infrastructure site in Sumy, causing power disruptions and partial blackouts.
Additionally, Russian forces shelled a public transit stop in Kherson, killing a 65-year-old man and wounding another local.
