Russian troops hammered Ukraine with a barrage of missiles and drones overnight into Friday, targeting energy infrastructure in Kyiv, Kremenchuk, Dnipro, and Zaporizhzhia, and wounding at least nine in the capital, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported.

The assault left Kyiv's left bank without power after hits on energy facilities, Klitschko said.

A strike damaged a residential building in the Pecherskyi district, injuring at least nine people, five of whom were hospitalized.

Another apartment block was hit in the Holosiyivskyi district, and debris from a downed missile fell near a clinic in the Desnianskyi district, preliminary reports indicated.

Kyiv's subway will run on altered routes due to outages: red line trains between Akademmistechko and Arsenalna stations; green line between Syrets and Klovska; blue line unchanged.

DTEK energy workers are rushing to restore power.

Situation in other cities

Beyond Kyiv, Russian strikes killed a 7-year-old boy in Zaporizhzhia, regional governor Ivan Fedorov said.

The city faced heavy drone attacks, with traffic closed over the DniproHPP dam as a precaution. Gas infrastructure was damaged.

Russian forces also pounded Kremenchuk in Poltava Oblast and Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. Explosions rocked Dnipro, Kamianske and Kryvyi Rih areas, hitting energy sites and sparking fires whose impacts are still being assessed, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast governor Serhiy Lysak said.

Emergency power outage schedules were imposed in Sumy Oblast after Russian strikes.
