Explosions rock Russia's Saratov Oblast amid suspected drone attack on refinery
Explosions rang out across Russia's Saratov Oblast overnight into Monday amid drone threats, with a local oil refinery likely targeted again, Russian Telegram channel Shot reported.
The channels said drones struck Saratov and Engels, where residents heard air raid sirens and anti-aircraft fire. Other areas in the region were also hit.
Saratov airport was shut down for safety, and a no-fly alert was imposed in neighboring Penza Oblast.
The Astra Telegram channel reported that footage showed drones hitting the Saratov refinery, which had been draped in protective netting after repeated Ukrainian strikes — the last just two weeks ago.
