Ukrainian strike causes explosions and fire at Orenburg Oblast oil refinery
Ukrainian forces struck the Orsknefteorgsintez oil refinery in Russia's Orenburg Oblast overnight, sparking explosions and a fire that hit a primary crude processing unit, the Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff reported.
Explosions and a fire were recorded on the refinery grounds after the hit. Preliminary information indicates a successful strike on one of the primary crude oil processing units (AVT). The fallout is being assessed.
The General Staff said the refinery produces more than 30 types of petroleum products: gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene, oils and more.
Its designed capacity is 6.6 million tons of crude oil per year. The refinery also supports the Russian army.
