Russian troops attacked Ukraine overnight into Monday with two Iskander-M ballistic missiles and 128 drones of various types, killing three people in Kharkiv Oblast and damaging infrastructure in the Odesa and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts; air defenses neutralized 91 drones, the Ukrainian Air Force Command reported.

The aggressor fired the missiles from Russia's Rostov Oblast, and drones from Kursk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Bryansk and Chauda in the temporarily occupied Crimea. About 80 of the drones were Shaheds.

Aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare groups, unmanned systems and mobile fire teams from Ukraine's Defense Forces repelled the aerial assault.

As of 9 a.m., air defenses had downed or suppressed 91 enemy drones over the north, south and east of the country, preliminary data showed.

Hits were recorded from 32 strike drones at 15 locations and the two ballistic missiles at two sites.

The attack was ongoing as of 9 a.m., with several drones remaining in Ukrainian airspace.

Consequences of the attack

Russian forces struck Balakliya in Kharkiv Oblast with two missiles, killing three people and wounding 13, including four girls aged 12, 14, 15 and 17.

Russia hit Odesa Oblast's port and energy infrastructure with drones, damaging port equipment and several civilian vessels at docks; one person was injured.

Infrastructure Minister Oleksii Kuleba said drone strikes damaged rail infrastructure in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

Attacks on critical infrastructure in Donetsk Oblast left about 30,000 subscribers without water and 20,000 without heat; restoration work is underway.
