Russian troops fail to seize Vovchansk after 565 days of assaults, Ukrainian defenders show ruins (VIDEO)

Ukrainian defenders holding the line near Vovchansk in Kharkiv Oblast have released video showing the city reduced to rubble after 565 days of relentless Russian assaults.
The footage, shared by the 57th Kosh Otaman Kost Hordiyenko Separate Mechanized Infantry Brigade, highlights the near-total devastation, with no facilities remaining.
"Everything here is destroyed," the brigade said. "From the town where life continued before the occupiers arrived, nothing remains — no plants, no schools, no churches."
Russian troops have repeatedly claimed to have seized Vovchansk, filming propaganda videos of planting flags, but Ukrainian forces continue to repel them.
"Buildings can't withstand it," the brigade added. "But our fighters keep holding the defense."
The General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces reported on November 27 that on the Southern Slobozhanskyi axis, Russian troops attacked Ukrainian positions six times near Vovchansk, Ambarne and Dvorichanske but were repelled.
Last week, Russian General Staff chief Valery Gerasimov falsely reported to President Vladimir Putin that his forces had occupied most of Vovchansk. Ukraine's General Staff dismissed the claims as "cheap information provocations."
