Ukraine’s Sub Sea Baby drones hit Russian submarine

Ukrainian Sub Sea Baby drones operated by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) hit a Russian submarine in the port of Novorossiysk. As a result of the explosion, the submarine suffered critical damage and can no longer operate, SBU says.
The SBU reports that the Russian 636.3 Varshavianka-class submarine carried four Kalibr cruise missile launchers, which the Russian forces use to attack Ukrainian territory.
The blown-up submarine was forced to station in the port of Novorossiysk after previous successful Ukrainian operations involving Sea Baby surface drones, which drove Russian ships and submarines out of Sevastopol Bay in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
The cost of a Varshavianka-class submarine is about $400 million. However, given the international sanctions in place, the construction of a similar submarine could now cost up to $500 million, the SBU says.
Another name for this class of submarines is the Black Hole because of the hull's ability to absorb sound and remain undetectable by sonars.
According to the SBU, this was a joint operation between the 13th Main Directorate of Military Counterintelligence of the SBU and the Ukrainian Navy.
