Ukrainian defenses down 15 of 24 Russian ballistic missiles, 197 drones during overnight assault

Russian forces launched 24 ballistic missiles and 219 attack drones at Ukraine overnight into Thursday, with Ukrainian air defenses downing or suppressing 15 of the ballistic missiles and 197 drones, the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.

From 6 p.m. on Feb. 11 until the morning of Feb. 12, the aggressor launched:

  • 24 Iskander-M/S-300 ballistic missiles from Bryansk, Voronezh, and Rostov oblasts of Russia, as well as from temporarily occupied Crimea;
  • One Kh-59/69 guided aviation missile from the airspace of temporarily occupied Donetsk Oblast;
  • 219 attack UAVs of Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas types and other drones from the directions of Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Shatalovo in Russia, and Hvardiyske in temporarily occupied Crimea.

The main targets of the attack were Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, and Odesa.

According to preliminary data as of 9 a.m., air defense forces shot down or suppressed 213 aerial targets:

  • 15 Iskander-M/S-300 ballistic missiles;
  • One Kh-59/69 guided aviation missile;
  • 197 enemy Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas-type UAVs and other drones.

Nine missiles and 19 attack drones struck 13 locations, with debris from downed targets falling at 14 locations.
