Russia launches Iskander missile, 126 drones at Ukraine overnight

Russian forces launched one Iskander-M ballistic missile and 126 attack drones against Ukraine overnight into Friday, with air defenses downing or suppressing 117 drones while the missile and eight drones struck seven locations, Ukrainian Air Force Command reported.
The Iskander-M was fired from Russia's Rostov Oblast, while the drones approached from Bryansk, Oryol, Kursk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia and Hvardiyske in occupied Crimea. Ukrainian defenses — including aviation, surface-to-air missile units, electronic warfare teams, unmanned systems and mobile fire groups — countered the assault.
As of 8 a.m., impacts were confirmed from the ballistic missile and eight strike drones at seven sites, with debris from downed drones falling at five additional locations.
Consequences of the attacks
Around 12:22 a.m., Russian forces targeted the center of Novhorod-Siverskyi in Chernihiv Oblast, hitting a historic building housing the city library. Adjacent residential buildings and administrative structures were also damaged.
“While the city slept, Russian drones destroyed books and peaceful infrastructure,” said Oleksandr Seliverstov, head of the Novhorod-Siverskyi district military administration.
In Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, two people were wounded over the day. Russian forces attacked five districts nearly 20 times using artillery, drones, aerial bombs, and a missile.
Three people were injured in Russian attacks on Zaporizhzhia city and Zaporizhzhia district on March 12. Overall, the aggressor delivered 899 strikes on 44 settlements in Zaporizhzhia Oblast during the day.
In Donetsk Oblast, Russian forces killed two more civilians — one in Kostiantynivka and one in Lyman — while six others were wounded over the past day.
On Thursday evening, Russian strike drones attacked port infrastructure in Odesa Oblast, damaging a food warehouse in the port area and causing a fire.
