Ukrainian air defenses down 147 Russian drones overnight

Russian forces launched 172 attack drones of the Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other types at Ukraine overnight from Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, occupied Donetsk, and Hvardiyske in occupied Crimea, the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said.

Ukrainian aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, drone systems and mobile fire groups repelled the attack.

As of 8 a.m., air defenses downed or suppressed 147 enemy drones in the north, south and east of the country.

21 strike drones hit 12 locations, while debris from downed drones fell at eight other sites.

Attacks by region

From Wednesday evening, Russian forces continued striking Kharkiv Oblast, including the city of Kharkiv. Between 2 a.m. and 7 a.m., they attacked the Kyivskyi District five times.

“We can state that the enemy targeted a critical infrastructure facility,” Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov said.

In the Shevchenkivskyi district, Russia hit a high-rise apartment building, leaving at least two people injured. In Chuhuyiv, Kharkiv Oblast, a Russian drone struck the fifth floor of a residential building, wounding three women.

In Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, one person was killed and two others wounded, including a child. The aggressor attacked three districts more than 10 times with drones and artillery. In Synelnykove, an administrative building and shopping complex caught fire. Infrastructure, about a dozen apartment and private houses, outbuildings and buses were damaged.

In Sumy Oblast, three people were wounded and infrastructure was damaged on Wednesday.

In Odesa Oblast, Russians attacked port infrastructure overnight. Warehouses, hangars and administrative facilities were damaged in one port. Containers and a civilian vehicle also caught fire. No casualties were reported.
