Russia attacks port infrastructure in Odesa Oblast, casualties reported in other regions

Russian forces launched 176 attack drones at Ukraine overnight into Wednesday, with air defenses downing or suppressing 146 of them, while 24 drones struck 12 locations and debris fell in one more, damaging port infrastructure in Izmail in Odesa Oblast and causing casualties in several other areas, the Air Force Command reported.

Consequences of the attacks

Fires broke out in warehouse premises at a port enterprise in Odesa Oblast’s Izmail after the strike, though no casualties were reported there initially.

In Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, air defenses destroyed 13 drones overnight with no immediate casualties, but four people were killed and 24 wounded on April 7 in Russian artillery and drone attacks.

In particular, the Russian forces attacked an urban minibus and an intercity minibus in Nikopol in one day, causing casualties.

In Sumy Oblast, more than 70 strikes hit 31 settlements over the day, killing a 42-year-old man in the Romny community and injuring three women aged 47, 61 and 66.

In Kharkiv Oblast, 17 settlements came under attack, wounding two people: a 40-year-old man in Kachalivka and a 50-year-old woman in Vysoke.

In Kherson Oblast, four people were killed and 21 wounded, including a child on Tuesday, with damage to 17 apartment buildings, 28 houses, a pharmacy, a utility structure, a cell tower, a warehouse, a private garage and vehicles including an ambulance.
