Car hits pedestrian after Russian drone debris falls in Kyiv
Russian forces launched drones toward Kyiv on Tuesday afternoon, causing falling debris that led to a traffic accident in the capital’s Shevchenkivskyi district, where a car struck a pedestrian.
Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko and head of the Kyiv City Military Administration Tymur Tkachenko detailed the attack.
Air raid sirens sounded in the capital at 2:08 p.m. local time. City authorities reported initial consequences just 20 minutes later.
Debris from the drones fell in the Shevchenkivskyi district, where it triggered a collision between vehicles on one of the streets. One person was preliminarily reported injured. In addition, drone fragments landed on the roof of an unfinished building, sparking a fire.
Klitschko clarified that the explosion from falling drone debris in the Shevchenkivskyi district caused a road accident in which a passenger car hit a pedestrian. The victim was hospitalized.
Consequences of the attack were also recorded in Kyiv’s Solomyanskyi district, where drone debris fell onto a cemetery.
