Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces hit Iskander missile storage site in occupied Crimea
Ukrainian Special Operations Forces drones struck a storage facility for Iskander operational-tactical missile systems in occupied Crimea overnight into Tuesday, the SOF press service reported.
The "Middle-strike" units of the SOF carried out the attack on a former missile base located near the village of Ovrazhky, approximately 25 miles east of Simferopol. According to military officials, the concealed equipment at this location allowed Russian forces to launch missiles that could reach the front lines or Ukrainian rear cities within minutes.
Local members of the Ukrainian "Resistance Movement" have frequently documented missile launches from this specific site.
"Striking and destroying the enemy's strategic complexes reduces their combat effectiveness. The SOF continue to employ asymmetric actions to strategically exhaust the enemy's ability to wage war against Ukraine," the Special Operations Forces stated.
This operation follows a significant strike on March 20, when Ukrainian forces targeted the Votkinsk Machine Building Plant in the Russian republic of Udmurtia. That facility is responsible for manufacturing rocket engines for Iskander missiles and intercontinental ballistic missiles, including the Oreshnik system.
