Ukrainian Navy strikes Russian boats guarding Kerch Bridge (VIDEO)
Ukrainian forces hit a Russian ship-and-boat formation near the Kerch Strait overnight into Thursday, the Ukrainian Navy reported.
According to the military, the strike damaged the Russian FSB patrol boat Sobol and the anti-saboteur boat Grachonok.
These vessels are described as key units of the Coastal Guard of the Russian FSB Border Service and the Russian Navy, used to protect the Kerch Bridge and counter saboteurs.
“As a result of the strike, the enemy suffered irreversible and sanitary losses,” the Navy stated, referring to killed and wounded Russian personnel.
The Kerch (Crimean) Bridge has become an important logistical artery for Russian troops during the war. Occupying forces use it to transfer reinforcements to their army, particularly in southern Ukraine. The bridge also serves as a symbol of Russia’s permanent presence on occupied territory.
