One dead, multiple wounded as Russia strikes Ukraine with Iskander missile and drones

Russian forces launched a ballistic missile and 116 drones at Ukraine overnight, killing one person and injuring several others. Air defenses intercepted 109 of the drones but could not neutralize the missile, Ukraine's Air Force reported.
Russia launched an Iskander-M ballistic missile along with attack drones, including Shahed models — among them jet-propelled variants — as well as Gerbera and Italmas drones and Parodiya decoy drones.
The assault was countered by aviation units, surface-to-air missile forces, electronic warfare units, drone defense units and mobile fire teams of Ukraine's Defense Forces.
As of 8:30 a.m., air defenses had shot down or suppressed 109 enemy Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other drone types across northern, southern and eastern Ukraine.
The ballistic missile and five attack drones struck five locations, while debris from downed drones fell on four additional locations. Several enemy drones remained over Ukrainian airspace.
One person was killed and two others were injured in the Novhorod-Siverskyi district of Chernihiv Oblast as a result of the Russian attack. A vehicle and a warehouse on the grounds of an agricultural enterprise caught fire — both blazes have since been extinguished, Ukraine's State Emergency Service said.
The city of Dnipro was also struck, said regional governor Oleksandr Hanzha. Two women — aged 58 and 35 — were injured and have since received medical attention.
An apartment on the fifth floor of a five-story residential building was damaged, and the blast wave blew out windows in several neighboring buildings.
An enterprise in Kryvyi Rih was also damaged and a 34-year-old man was wounded.
