Ukraine’s General Staff reports successful attacks on Russian oil refineries and command posts
Ukrainian Defence Forces struck oil refineries and the Tolyattiikauchuk petrochemical plant in Russia overnight on June 12. Russian command and observation posts and artillery depot in the occupied territories were also attacked, says the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In Nizhnekamsk, one of Russia's largest oil refineries, TANEKO oil refining complex, was hit. Its design processing capacity is over 16 million tons of oil per year. The refinery produces a wide range of fuels and lubricants, including diesel fuel, aviation fuel and other petroleum products.
The overnight attack also targeted the TAIF-NK oil refinery, a large complex that specialises in high oil refining depth (over 95%). The refinery processes heavy sour crude oil and gas condensate and supplies Russia’s petrochemical and military sectors.
General Staff also confirms that Ukrainian forces hit the Tolyattiikauchuk petrochemical plant in Russia’s Samara region, causing fire at the site. The plant produces synthetic rubbers (which, in particular, are used in the further production of solid rocket fuel for tactical and ballistic missiles), monomers, fractions and high-octane additives to gasoline.
Russian command and observation posts were attacked in the areas of Obesta and Iskra in the Kursk region and near Marynske in the Kherson region. The enemy's control points near Voskresenka and Pokrovsk and the enemy's communications hub near Vesele in the Donetsk region were also hit.
It is also reported that the Ukrainian military attacked the concentration of Russian troops at the Vostochny training ground in the area of Novopetrivka, Zaporizhzhia region. The field artillery depot in the area of Rybiantsevo in the Luhansk region and the enemy's logistics depot in Mariupol in the Donetsk region were also hit.
It’s confirmed that the Kuibyshev Oil Refinery in Russia’s Samara region halted its operations after the attack on June 10. The AVT-4 and AVT-5 primary oil processing units and the RVS-2000 tank were hit.
