The Center of Innovative Technologies developed a DART missile, which is claimed to be resistant to electronic warfare. It is launched from stratospheric balloons, says Ukrainian military news website Militarnyi.

The DART body’s overall length is 1.84 metres, and its empty weight is 13 kilograms. Depending on the configuration, the warhead’s weight can range from 3.5 to 10 kilograms. The warhead has graphite impact elements.

The missile is launched from stratospheric balloons at an altitude of 12-18 kilometres. The precision of activation and the stability of the flight path across the full range of launch conditions are ensured by special servo drives. The company says balloons were developed within a joint project.

According to Militarnyi, the missile is guided by a navigation system. After reaching an altitude of approximately 6 kilometers, the navigation turns off completely, and the solid-fuel engine is activated, after which the missile continues to move towards the target without changing course.

Disabling the systems during the flight to the target does not allow enemy electronic warfare to affect the missile.

According to the developers, DART will soon undergo codification in Ukraine’s Defence Ministry. They also plan to create a ballistic missile and a surface-to-air missile based on DART.
