Explosions reported overnight in Crimea as fire appears to break out at Kerch thermal power plant

Russia’s Defense Ministry claims it shot down 143 Ukrainian drones overnight, including some over occupied Crimea, as local Telegram channels reported strikes on what appeared to be a thermal power plant in Kerch.
Occupation authorities in Crimea did not officially disclose the consequences of the strikes. At the same time, the Telegram channel Crimean Wind reported a series of explosions across the peninsula during the night.
The channel said fires broke out near an electrical substation close to the village of Mykolaivka in the Sovietskyi district and at the Pivdenna railway station in Kerch.
Later, the monitoring group said it had confirmed a strike on a storage tank at a thermal power plant in Kerch, where a fire broke out.
Crimean Wind, citing satellite imagery, also reported fires near Dzhankoy, at sites where Russian forces are stationed on the Arabat Spit, and in Simferopol.
On Tuesday morning, occupation authorities reported power supply disruptions in western and northern Crimea, Russian news agency Interfax reported.
“Due to technological disruptions in the electric networks, consumers in the city districts of Yevpatoria, Saky, Krasnoperekopsk and Dzhankoy, as well as the Krasnoperekopsk, Saky, Dzhankoy and Krasnohvardiyske districts, were disconnected,” Interfax quoted Krymenergo as saying.
Restrictions in occupied Crimea
In recent days, a number of temporary restrictions were introduced in occupied Sevastopol amid Ukrainian attacks on the peninsula. Russia-installed official Mikhail Razvozhayev announced restrictions affecting public transportation and sea connections.
Starting June 22, the city also shortened the operating hours of shopping centers, supermarkets and food service businesses. All outdoor mass events have also been canceled.
