Ukrainian Special Operations Forces say rail bridge over North Crimean Canal ‘no longer exists’

Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces said they destroyed a railway bridge over the North Crimean Canal in occupied Crimea, the SOF announced on Threads.

"Excuse me, but we have an official and urgent matter here: the railway bridge over the North Crimean Canal in Crimea no longer exists - the SOF! The first one has left," the statement said.

Overnight into Tuesday, Crimea came under a drone attack. Local Telegram channels reported a fire near an electrical substation by the village of Mykolaivka in the Sovietskyi district, as well as a fire at the Pivdenna railway station in Kerch.

Citing satellite imagery, the same channels also reported fires near Dzhankoy, at sites where Russian forces are stationed on the Arabat Spit, and in Simferopol.

The strike was the latest in a series of recent attacks. On June 21, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukrainian drones had hit targets on both sides of the Kerch Bridge, including maritime logistics used to transport oil in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai and an oil depot in occupied Kerch.

On June 18, drones operated by Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces had already been reported to have struck the railway bridge over the North Crimean Canal.
