Russia launches ballistic missile and 90 drones at Ukraine; gas stations hit in Sumy and Zaporizhzhia

Russia attacked Ukraine overnight and into Thursday morning with one Iskander-M ballistic missile and 90 drones, 83 of which were neutralized, according to Ukraine’s Air Force. In Sumy and Zaporizhzhia, Russian strikes hit gas stations, causing fires.
The Russian forces launched the Iskander-M from occupied Crimea, and it was not intercepted, the Air Force said. Ukrainian air defenses downed or suppressed 83 drones, including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and Parodiya types.
Fallout from the attacks
In Kherson, at about 8 a.m., Russian forces attacked a hospital with a drone. Five employees of the medical facility were injured. Preliminary information indicates they suffered blast-related injuries.
In the Zarichnyi district of Sumy, Russian forces hit a gas station, sparking a fire. Sumy Oblast Military Administration head Oleg Hryhorov said four people were affected. Medics hospitalized two gas station workers with minor injuries and also treated a married couple who had been nearby at the time of the strike.

Just the day before, Russian forces struck another gas station in the same district of the city, injuring one person. Hryhorov said Russia has already hit gas stations in Sumy Oblast 13 times in June.
In Zaporizhzhia, Russian forces also attacked a gas station, regional governor Ivan Fedorov said. Smoke was visible over the city. One woman was injured in a drone strike, and another drone caused a fire.
In Poltava Oblast, Russian forces used drones to attack an industrial enterprise. State Emergency Service units extinguished the fire. In Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Russian attacks damaged a gas station, a warehouse, vehicles, a college, a recreation complex, a dormitory and homes.
In Bohodukhiv in Kharkiv Oblast, Russian forces struck a residential area. Five people were affected and were diagnosed with acute stress reactions.
