ABC News fixer-turned-soldier Maksym Oseredchuk killed on front line in Ukraine

Maksym Oseredchuk, a fixer for ABC News who later joined Ukraine’s military, has been killed in Russia’s war against Ukraine, the U.S. broadcaster reported.
According to ABC News, the 30-year-old serviceman was killed in a Russian drone attack. He joined the Ukrainian Armed Forces several months ago.
“He was a friend and colleague to those of us who reported in Ukraine. He drove many of us around the country into the front lines, keeping all of us safe. He always had a smile. We remember his sharp mind, calling him one of life’s genuinely lovely people,” ABC journalist David Muir said.
The broadcaster said Maksym loved his work, his country and his colleagues. He became part of the network’s team when Russia launched its full-scale invasion.
“All of us who worked with Max are thinking of him, his wife Kateryna and their baby daughter Maria. Max was just 30 years old,” Muir added.
